TRA ANNOUNCES "FREQUENT-RIDER" PROGRAM
The Taiwan Railway Administration has recently announced a "frequent-rider" program for its customers, which will be effective starting March 16th. Once registered as online members, passengers can earn miles to redeem for free train tickets.
Starting on March 16th, members of Taiwan Railway's new loyalty program will be able to exchange accumulated points for free tickets.
In accordance with the membership policy, which was modeled after airline mileage programs, travelers will earn one point for every 30 NT spent.
Tzu Chiang Express tickets from Taipei to Kaohsiung, for example, cost 845 NT and can be exchanged for 28 points.
A 100-kilometer free ticket, which is equivalent to a 230 NT ticket from Taipei to Hsinchu, can be exchanged for every 500 points accumulated.
The membership program will be launched on March 16th, and travelers can register for membership online.
In the future, points will be automatically accumulated during ticket purchases.
