DESIGNER DEMOS CHIANG TURNED INSTRUCTOR
Designer Demos Chiang, the grandson of late president Chiang Ching-kuo, is sharing his knowledge by offering a design course at the Asia University this semester. Chiang says that innovation is the key to earning money, and he hopes to create a group of daring students who are not afraid to express themselves through art.
Demos Chiang is currently teaching his first design and marketing course in Taiwan at the invitation of Asia University.
Chiang regards innovation as a tool for earning money, and says that he hopes to produce a group of "rebellious" designers and marketing experts.
Chiang also expressed concern about the government's proposed luxury tax.
Many students were interested in signing up for the course when it was first announced, but space was limited to 50 students and applicants were required to submit a portfolio for review.
According to Chiang, innovation should be used to earn money rather than prizes.
While some students agree with Chiang, others say that they are reserving judgment for the time being.
