The National Tax Administration will be providing automated tax filing service to around 2 million households, which will indeed make lives easier for many individuals. Taxpayers will receive the calculation sheet by April 25th, and will be able to complete the whole process by simply mailing back the form.

Tax season begins in May.

But something's different this year. National Tax Administration would help you calculate the tax amount first.

Starting this year, Ministry of Finance has an unprecedented practice of calculating the income tax for taxpayers.

The trial calculation sheets will be delivered in registered mails on April 25th.

After confirming the details, taxpayers can finish the tax filing process by replying the mail.

The measure, not applicable for those using itemized deduction, is estimated to benefit 2 million taxpayers across Taiwan.

3 of the 5 income tax rates are lowered by 1%.

But the highest levels of 30% and 40% remain unchanged.

Also starting this year, those who have overseas income totaling 1 million NTD or more would have to include them in the tax filing.
