Sirena Huang, the first Taiwanese to win the top prize for violin in the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, is going to hold her violin recital at the National Concert Hall next Tuesday. She said she didn't really care about the result because what matters is if she's getting better each time she plays.
Sirena, born in the U.S., tells us in Mandarin and English that she is no different from other young girls who love pop music and shopping.
The only difference is that she spends 4-5 hours per day in practicing violin. Originally, she wanted to study piano but after she learned to play violin when she was 4, she just loved it.
In addition to receiving numerous international recognitions, she was also invited by President of France, His Majesty King of Jordan and the former Czech Republic President to perform in various occasions.
She said this time she will present her love for music with the audience in Taiwan.
