In the wake of the tragic incident in Japan, the government has been active in conducting disaster drills across the island. The seven rescuers who took part in Japan's rescue mission are now joining the firefighters of the New Taipei City for an intense training exercise, along with the participation of canines in order to be ready for potential emergency situations.

The house collapsed in the magnitude-7 earthquake. The first thing the rescuers did was trying to make sure if there's any survivors trapped in the debris through life detecting devices and the rescue dogs.

Some rescuers cleared up part of the collapsed building, preventing the debris from burying the survivors, while other rescuers cut the walls open to get the survivor out of the building.

Rescuers carefully placed the survivor on the stretcher and secured, stopped the bleeding, provided oxygen before loading him in the back of the ambulance and sending him to the hospital.

This is the disaster drill held by the rescue team of New Taipei City government's Fire Department, simulating a magnitude 7 earthquake.

Participants are required to fully exercise the drill, including the seven rescuers who just returned from Japan's relief effort.

They also shared their experience with other participants. Considering the fact that rescue efforts after a serious disaster usually last more than one day, participants of the drill were also asked to prepare food, bottled water and to camp for 3 days near the place where the drill was held, to simulate the exact situation of a real disaster rescue effort.
