Taipei mayor Hau Lung-bin announced his new cabinet picks on Thursday, and former deputy mayor Li Yong-ping, who resigned in September amid controversies about the Flora Expo, will assume the new role as head of the Taipei Cultural Foundation, which is a position without remuneration.

Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-pin recently released the new name list of the new Taipei City government body.

The current vice minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Chen Wei-jen, and the current deputy mayor of Taipei City, Chiu Wen-xiang, were appointed the two deputy mayors to Hau for the new term.

Rumors that a third deputy mayor would be the chair of EasyCard Corporation, Lian Sheng-wen, have been denied by Hau.

Going into his second term as Taipei City mayor, Hau has made adjustments to the positions of 16 bureau directors, 7 of which are new members.

Since becoming Taipei City mayor, Hau has encountered disputes over the Maokong Gondola, the MRT, and other transportation systems.

Assistant Secretary-General, Tan Guo-guang, who often took the brunt of the criticisms will now serve as the CEO of the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, while the former CEO, Tsai Hui-sheng, has been promoted to become the chair.

Former administrative spokesperson, Chao Hsin-ping, now a temporary stand-in spokesperson, will officially become the director of the Department of Information and Tourism.

Meanwhile, former deputy mayor Lin Yong-pin of the pre-election team dubbed, "the big four," has departed from Hau's team to become the chair of the Taipei Cultural Foundation.

Confidently announcing his new administrators, Hau believes that his new term in office will be marked with much more efficiency and effectiveness.
