Taipei mayor Hau Lung-bin started the final week of his campaign by visiting four temples yesterday morning, trying to win more support from the religious demographic. Meanwhile, his DPP challenger Su Tseng-chang made an urgent rallying call on the Internet, attempting to attract 10,000 extra votes in the last few days before the election.

Candidates were going out in the streets shaking hands with supporters and asking for their vote. Su Tseng-chang canvassed the streets, going to Neihu's flower market asking voters to help him sway voters in the upcoming election.

He also recruited 1,000 Internet users asking each one to attract ten votes, believing that these 10,000 votes will be the key to the election. Su canvassed the streets during the day and hosted an evening concert to attract voters.

His opponent, Hau Lung-bin, also went all out over the weekend during this golden weekend in the election, hosting a large rally, playing a political card by calling upon the President and Premier to support him.

Early in the morning he went to a temple to pray for a smooth election. With five days before the election, Su and Hau are battling in a tight contest.

Su is playing a citizens card, calling upon local people to help him, while Hau is playing a political card using his party's political advantage as the election comes down to the final moments and these key constituencies.
