Final Stage of Tpe Mayoral Race
Both candidates of the Taipei City mayor's race, KMT's Hau Lung-bin and DPP's Su Tseng-chang, have started a final push for votes this week, trying to gain the critical edge and claim the eventual victory.
Taipei City's incumbent mayor, Hau Lung-bin, paid a visit to his neighborhood temple on Wednesday morning and prayed that he would be re-elected.
With less than 72 hours remaining until voters head to the polls, Hau is hoping that Taipei City residents can recognize everything that he has done in the past four years and express their approval with their votes.
Both Hau and his opponent, Su Tseng-chang, acknowledge that the voter turnout rate will be key in determining who is elected.
Su canvassed the South Songshan Market area for votes on Wednesday, and was presented with radishes and pineapples, which symbolize luck, by supporters.
Su says that he will take advantage of every minute in the final three days to win the support of every single voter, and that he believes that voters will decide that he is the rational choice for mayor.
