KMT's Hau Lung-bin and Eric Chu thanked their supporters, after succeeding in keeping the seats in the north. Hau promised his best to carry out his plans, while Chu said that he will attempt to make Xinbei City the number one city on the island. The two also thanked their opponents, adding that they are open to discussing policies with the DPP.

Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-bin takes another bow. He held his wife's hand and thanked everyone for their support. Hau said he was born in Taipei and will grow old in Taipei.

Thus, he will try to make the city into a beautiful garden. Hau also held a moment of silence to pray for Sean Lien, who was shot prior to voting. In Xinbei City, Eric Chu of the KMT won a hard fought election.

He only appeared in front of his supporters to thank them when he reached 1 million votes. Chu promised he would be a good mayor and will try to push Xinbei City to become the number one city in the country. Although both men won the election in their city, they didn't forget to thank their opponents.

They said their opponents can discuss policies with them in the future. Their challenge of governing a city starts after a short break.
