The marching band from Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School has defeated dozens of competitors, grabbing the number one place at the 2010 World Championship for Marching Show Bands in Germany.

The Jianguo Marching Band strides to the beat of the music while executing a series of complex moves.

The band won first place at the 2010 World Championship for Marching Show Bands with a competition-high score of 92.58 points,

and the members of the band ran a lap around the stadium waving the Republic of China flag as the ROC National Flag Anthem played.

Many students and parents were visibly moved during the ceremony.

The 28-year old marching band is comprised of 87 high school students, most of whom attend Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School.

The members of the team trained for the competition for four months, and regard their countless bruises as badges of honor.

Their hard work and dedication has paid off, and the Jianguo Marching Band now has one more trophy in its collection.
