Internationally renowned choreagrapher Allen Yu returned to Taiwan this summer with his latest work, a two-act ballet

Every year, thousands of young women dream of becoming flight attendants while thousands of young men fantasize about becoming professional football players.

This dance piece was choreographed by Allen Yu. A native of Taiwan who has lived in Europe for more than two decades, Yu returns to Taiwan every summer with a troupe of talented ballet dancers from across Europe.

He is currently producing a new show for Chamber Ballet Taipei that combines two completely different styles: classic ballet and dance theater.

The piece is about the door of life, and is told from the perspective of a doorman. Despite his lowly station in life, he is able to experience the stories that take place on either side of the door and ultimately find meaning in his own life.

Chamber Ballet Taipei's dancers are thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in a new, innovative performance style that combines the classic with the modern.

80 musicians from the Taipei Symphony Orchestra will be accompanying the performance.
