CHIEN TO RUN FOR LEGISLATIVE SEAT
A sports legend is ready to try her hand in the political arena.
Retired basketball star Chien Wei-chuan announced her legislative bid yesterday morning, running on behalf of the KMT in the Wugu and Lu-jhou districts of New Taipei City.
Chien said she made the decision after KMT heavyweight King Pu-tsung visited her in person last Sunday, and she has been impressed by King's sincerity.
Acknowledging that there is going to be tough battles ahead, Chien promised to try her best to achieve victory just as she always did on basketball courts.
