TAIPEI LANTERN FEST KICKS OFF 2/11
We are coming close to the Taipei Lantern Festival for the Chinese New Year, in welcoming the Year of the Rabbit.
In addition to the traditional display, this time around, the public will also have the pleasure to enjoy the lanterns in an interactive space.
The 10-day event will kick off on February 11th, and those who want the bunny lanterns can expect traffic jams and long lines.
The theme lantern of this year's Taipei Lantern Festival slowly comes to life under a display of laser lights.
The revolving rabbit lantern was created with new LED technology, and different motifs that display the uniqueness of Taipei's traditional yet innovative culture appear across its body.
Whereas in the past spectators could only enjoy the theme lantern from afar, a special interactive corridor has been constructed this year around the theme lantern display.
Meanwhile, this year's free handheld lanterns are nodding "lucky rabbits" that can be held or worn on the head. The lanterns will be distributed between February 12th and February 17th at the Renai Road intersection outside Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall.
This year's ten-day Taipei Lantern Festival, which opens on February 11th, will feature technology, dreamscapes,
and public interaction, and visitors will experience an unforgettable centennial Lantern Festival celebration.
