CANCER FIGHTER'S STORY FOR YOUNG STUDENTS
A young fighter's courageous story surely deserves to be heard.
In order to share Dou Dou's optimistic attitude in adverse circumstances with the students, the Yunlin County's Education Department has decided to include his cancer fighting experience in the textbooks for the county's fifth graders.
Dou-Dou is 7 years old and battling cancer, with no hair and wearing a mask as every day this child endures pain.
This child helps his parents sell candy and biscuits on the side of the road to earn money for medical treatment.
At the age of 6, this child was diagnosed with a rare form of neuroblastoma with brain and renal tube tumors.
He is worried about his mother every time he goes for chemotherapy.
This child does not cry or scream out no matter the pain, as the battle against this disease is truly brave, even being included in Yunlin's Huwei elementary school textbooks.
The mother says that Dou-Dou has become a role model for all children and is quite happy.
He is now in the hospital receiving chemotherapy as his mother shows all of these photos showing that he is not sick but enjoying life every day and doing things like painting or reading and continuing this brave fight against illness.
The lesson is hope and courage for all children who should never give up when facing adversity.
