Street Artists Speak on Campus
With every job, there is significance and bitterness.
To pass along that concept, a Taichung university has invited street performers to share their working experience with the students. The line of work is not often talked about, so on this day, the talents are given their chance to voice their thoughts.
This saxophone creates a wonderful melody and this balloon-making clown stands to the side, as well as this real life Terracotta Army Warrior.
This is not a street performance but a campus visit. Chaoyang University of Technology invited these street performers to come on campus which was quite entertaining for many students.
At present, there are more than 1,000 licenses issued to domestic street performers, with nearly 20% passing the exam process.
Many do not know the difficulty that many undergo in this line of work.
These performances attracted students to stop to watch, and also provided the performers with lots of applause. However, these street performers also say there are many problems when performing on the street.
Street artist licenses are currently distributed by each county and city, and there is none that apply to multiple municipalities.
This is something to consider changing in the future as these performers hope the central government can have a more clear policy for governance and a joint permit.
