Plum Blossoming Early This Year
Plum flowers in Nantou County have blossomed nearly one month earlier due to the recent cold weather. Around 50 hectares of snow-white plum flowers have covered the hillside, providing a beautiful winter view.
The white blossoms are blooming on the branches, covering the place with elegant whiteness.
In the meantime, visitors are also snapping away with their camera, documenting and taking in this beautiful scene as much as they can.
Actually, plum blossoms usually bloom around January each year, but this year at Fengguidou in Hsinyi Township, Nantou has about 50 hectares that have bloomed already.
According to the flower farmers, due to the fluctuating temperature and irregular cold fronts, the blooming time also came early, started sprouting two weeks ago and due to the cold front last week, some buds have bloomed.
It is also estimated that the cold front this week will make more buds bloom.
And for those who want to avoid traffic jams during the weekend, these days would be a great time to go to the hills.
