Nantou Flower Festival Kicked Off
The 2010 Nantou Flower Festival has kicked off in Puli Township, showcasing roses, lilies and orchids. In addition, a series of activities will take place in nearby townships, which is expected to generate 400 million NT dollars in revenue for the floriculture industry in the area.
Walking into this floral landscape many begin taking photos immediately, with adults and children all joining in the fun.
There are 20 centimeters peony flowers that are almost as big as a children's face. These peonies from Taiwan visiting from Taiwan Shanlin Creek are really beautiful. Puli's Floral Carnival takes on the special characteristics of the area with peonies, lilies, roses and orchids.
Those that have visited both the Taipei Flora Expo and the one in Puli believe the latter is more intimate. Spending 800mn NT$ on this carnival is much less than the Taipei Flora Expo, but it also gives one the chance to the efforts of Taiwan's flower growers.
Through this carnival, visitors can learned more about many different types of flowers native to the different townships such as roses, lilies and different types of orchids some of which are tops in Taiwan.
The carnival not only features the beauty of the earth but also attracts more tourism which the beauty which many people are very optimistic about, but which will ultimately need the festival to conclude before calculating its benefit.
