Kaohsiung, the City of Love
While many people are planning to tie-the knot in the 100th year of R.O.C., Kaohsiung's wedding studios have jointly organized a "wedding festival", in hope to attract couples to bring their celebration to the south, and to take part in this unique profit-making opportunity. With the ultimate goal of making Kaohsiung the city of love and happiness, businesses are doing all they can to promote its beautiful sceneries.
The newlyweds stroll hand-in-hand down Kaohsiung's Love Pier.
Many engaged couples choose to have their wedding portraits taken along Love River or at Xizi Bay during sunset.
Other scenic spots around the city include the former British embassy, Cijin's light tower, the botanical garden, and a quaint old train station.
Businesses along Kaohsiung's famous "Wedding Studio Street" are hoping to cash in on centennial celebration revenue streams and at the same time promote the city as a top wedding photography destination.
Kaohsiung is surrounded by mountains and the ocean, and couples can get their photographs taken against a variety of natural backdrops that are in close proximity to each other.
At the same time, exterior shot packages start at 52,000 NT in Taipei, compared to combo packages starting at just 36,000 NT in Kaohsiung.
A number of films have helped to promote the city in recent years, and the wedding photography industry wants to do its part to sell the city.
