According to the recent survey, the average of the year-end bonus is equivalent to about 1.4 month of one's salary, which is 30 percent higher than last year's. However, the figure is still 15 percent lower than the stats before the financial crisis in 2007, which means the salary level has not yet fully recovered to its best.

China Airlines and EVA Air are offering minimum year-end bonuses of 4.7 months' and 2 months' wages, respectively.

Many employees say that the economy has recovered considerably over the past year, and are hoping for large bonuses at the end of the year.

According to a recent job bank survey, companies are offering an average year-end bonus this year of 1.4 months' wages, which is 30% higher than last year.

The cargo and storage industry has the highest average bonus of 1.71 months, followed by the construction and real estate industry with 1.55 months, and the service industry with 1.24 months.

While bonus levels have risen, they still remain lower than pre-financial crisis levels of 1.61 months.

The survey also revealed that base salaries will likely not return to pre-crisis levels until after next year.

The average wage in 2010 was 45,471 NT, but with standard of living and inflation factored in, wage levels are now less than they were 12 years ago.
