Little Baristas of Taiwan
There was a three-week long Taiwan Coffee Festival in Kukeng of Yunlin County, where the Huashan elementary school hosted a coffee making contest for its students, who experienced how to make coffee on their own.
Located in Kukeng of Yunlin County, the Huashan elementary school has a new subject in the curriculum this year, which includes coffee-making.
It's an effort to help children to get to know more about local coffee culture.
The Taiwan Coffee Festival began in the town last week and lasts three weeks.
The elementary school also organized a coffee-making contest for its students.
The number of participant is around 40.
And the top three winners get cash prize and a chance to be the spokesperson for the town's famous coffee products.
According to the village chife Lin Hui-ru, coffee is becoming a normal part of our daily life.
If kids in the town get to know more about the local coffee culture, learning about how to make and produce coffee, it could be a huge boost to the coffee industry in the future.
