Wang Won Silver for Taiwan
Taiwan's Judo athlete, Wang Chin-fang, snatched the silver medal for Chinese Taipei at the finals in the women's 63 kg category at the Asian Games, after being defeated by Japan's Yoshi Ueno, who walked away with the gold medal. Wang, still a winner, came a long way before her recent recognition. Let's take a look at her story before all that fame and glory.
Judo athlete Wang Chin-feng traded her sweat and effort for these medals.
When she was younger, she was rebellious.
But after she started practicing Judo, she became a changed person and had high hopes to participate in the Olympic Games in Athen in 2004.
However, she didn't get the qualification at then.
Two years later, her father passed away.
This further devastated her spirit.
Thanks to the encouragement from her coach and her sister, she decided to give herself a break and try it again.
Although Wang only took a silver medal in the Asian Games, the coaches praise her progress and encourage her to continue training and expand her performance experience.
