Saving the Whale
A two-meter dwarf sperm whale was recently found stranded on the beach in Miaoli. Sustaining multiple injuries over its body, the whale couldn't get back into the ocean. And eventually it took the joint effort of more than twenty people to send the marine crearture home.
This two-meter dwarf sperm whale is stranded on the beach and is in critical danger of dying as bottles of water are sprayed on it and blankets are added to maintain body moisture.
Also, a stretcher is used to lift this injured whale as rescuers hope to take advantage of high tide to help ship this dwarf sperm whale back to the sea.
This dwarf sperm whales is struggling forward, fighting these waves which bring it back to shore.
Because its body has a total of 10 wounds from head to tail, with the most serious being wound in the left abdomen that is deep enough to reveal its flesh,
it took more than five hours and still this dwarf sperm whale couldn't swim back to the deep sea.
This Coast Guard crew had to assemble a human wall, carrying the whale into the deep ocean.
Although their clothes were soaked, everyone thought it was worth it to save a life and hope this dwarf sperm whale could continue on its journey.
