The 2010 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition kicked off yesterday at Taipei World Trade Center, which showcases Taiwan's gourmet cuisine as well as popular night market delicacies. And some chefs even showed off their kitchen acrobatics to impress the visitors.
After the dough is prepared, the chef quickly slices it into thin, flat noodles and into the hot water.
Served with beef slices and minced green onion, here comes a bowl of beef noodles.
50 free samples are given away each day during the exhibition.
And this man from Hsichi was one lucky visitor as he managed to be the first in line to get a free serving.
This year's Taiwan Culinary Exhibition features the best of Taiwanese cuisine, where local snacks in night markets are included in the first time.
Famous regional flavors and cherished favorites such as oyster pancakes, fried chicken steak, marinated foods are displayed at the venue and have drawn much attention from foreign visitors.
While visitors pack the area where they can sample fresh food prepared on-site, the exhibition has also organized an area where chefs perform their culinary skills, which will satisfy those who love to cook.
