It is said that some Control Yuan members have expressed discontent over the Control Yuan President Wang Chien-shien, who suggested the individuals to investigate into cases with greater discretion. In response to the report, Wang said that the talk was merely an internal discussion and there's no need to overanalyze his words.

On the eve of Mother's Day, the Control Yuan held a special community celebration.

In regards to reports that he had angered a number of Control Yuan commissioners when he called on them to employ stricter standards in disputing cases,

Control Yuan President Wang Chien-shien said that he had only been voicing his opinion at an internal meeting, and that the public should refrain from speculating.

Wang further said that the Control Yuan would continue to live up to its responsibility of monitoring government officials.

In regards to the recent death of the daughter of Examination Yuan President Kuan Chung, Wang said that he had called Kuan to offer his condolences.

During the event, Wang also noted that Taiwan donated more funds to Japan than any other nation, and also called on sons and daughters to be filial to their parents at all times.
