NEW GIO MINISTER'S DEBUT AT PARLIAMENT
The new head of the Government Information Office, Philip Yang, visited the Legislative Yuan for interpellation for the first time on Thursday. While Yang appeared a bit uneasy facing pointed questions from some lawmakers, he managed to hold his own throughout the process.
The new Government Information Office Minister Phillip Yang went to the Legislative Yuan for an interpellation on his 4th day at the post. Yang prepared more then 10 pages for his presentation, which some lawmakers said it was too long and was a waste of their time, in addition, some of them questioned his proposal to have the news media reporting more happy news, which would influence the media.
Yang said that, the GIO couldnt give orders, just suggestions for media to report more positive news that the mass can agree on.
Yang had his smile through out the session, yet it is easy to see how nervous he was.
Since the GIO is going into history next year, some lawmakers asked Yang if he is going to work until the last day of GIO, Yang said, he would try his best
