In order to assess the learning process of younger students more accurately, the Ministry of Education is planning to administer standardized tests for junior high and elementary schools nationwide. While some parents welcome the new policy, others worry it will lead to excessive pressure on the students.

Elementary and junior high schools have 3 tests each semester. Unfortunately these tests are not standardized, and now it's rumored that the Ministry of Education intends to hold national, standardized tests to judge academic ability and allow parents and teachers to understand their child's learning.

Some parents worry that large-scale tests will increase the pressure on children.

They argue that 60-70% struggle to keep up as they ask the Ministry of Education to do more in the area of remedial instruction.

The 12-year compulsory education program will potentially see the adaptation of these national tests.

Some are worried about education being unequal, and encourage the government to develop policies to address this, otherwise it will increase the burden on children.
