CRAZY FOR THE IPAD 2
The hottest tech product of the moment, Apple's iPad 2, was launched last month in the U.S. and more than two million units were sold in less than three weeks' time.
And although it's not available yet here on the island, one Taiwanese gadget fan has already got her hands on the cool new tablet, and demonstrated its features to our reporters.
The most popular technological gadget is the tablet computer and among various kinds of tablet, the hottest one is Apple's ipad2. With a 9.7-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen and a weight at around 1.35 pounds, it is very easy to carry. Ipad2 was launched last March in the U.S. but is not released yet in Taiwan.
However, some consumers just can't wait that long. Ms. Chen asked her husband to buy an ipad2 for her during his business trip to the U.S. It cost him four hours of waiting and 499 US dollars to get the latest tablet device for his sweetheart.
Comparing with the first ipad, the latest version has two cameras, one at the back and one at the front, a great plus for those who love to take a lot of photos of themselves.
Ipad2 is 33 percent thinner than the first ipad, and it weighs 601 grams only, so it feels even more comfortable in your hands. The powerful dual-core chip also makes it much easier and faster to play games on ipad2. Still, Apple has not announced the release time for ipad2 in Taiwan, despite the tablet is already available in 26 countries.
So consumers in Taiwan can only hope that Apple will release ipad2 in Taiwan as soon as possible, before it releases ipad3.
