PRESIDENT MA PRAYS FOR THE NATION
President Ma Ying-jeou has paid a visit to the Ji-nan Temple in praying for good luck for the entire nation. Ma also took part in the game of the riddles, which gave everyone a chance to win red evelopes from the leader.
On Friday, which is the ninth day of the Chinese New Year, President Ma Ying-jeou went to Ji-nan temple to pray and donate his offerings for the luck of the national and citizens. While at the temple, Ma played guessing Chinese riddles with the crowd, giving away red envelopes to those who could solve the riddle.
Ma had a great time on stage with the devotees and he was generous to give red envelopes to those who could not solve the riddle also.
People started lining up to greet Ma early in the morning, some even came with the whole family in heavy coat and umbrellas in the cold morning.
The red envelope contains gold print of 100 with two NT$1 coins to represent the centenary of the Republic of China.
Most people were happy to get the good luck presents from the President in the year of the rabbit
