Heaven Can Wait
An 83-year-old woman in Yunlin was twice pronounced dead within a month about a year ago, and each time her heart and breathing had stopped for more than half an hour. Thanks to the persistence of one doctor, she was brought back to life on both occasions. And earlier this week, she celebrated the first anniversary of her "resurrection."
The hospital staff are celebrating the birthday of the elder woman.
A Kukeng township resident in Yunlin, 83-year-old Mrs. Chen experienced a shock due to cardiovascular vessel obstruction and lost breath and heartbeat for nearly 30 minutes.
At the time, her family members were hopeless.
According to the hospital, her three blood vessels were seriously blocked and doctors have suggested the elder to do a bypass surgery.
At the beginning, she was unwilling to go under the knife so there were two heart attacks in a month.
Although she lost her vital signs, the hospital continued to resuscitate her.
She lost her breath and heartbeat for almost half an hour twice a month and the hospital was able to save her, which was considered a miracle.
To make the miracle even more remarkable is that she was was saved by the same doctor.
Mrs. Chen spent a year of rehabilitation.
She also dedicated flowers to her lifesaver in the warm thank-you reception.
