Taiwan Pavilion Arrives Home
The first batch of containers carrying LED lights from the lantern-themed Taiwan Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo has arrived at the Keelung Harbor on Monday. Other remaining parts will be shipped back in a month, and the Taiwan Pavilion will be open to the public in Hsinchu City by next October.
These large cranes slowly lift this container, which is the first shipment of the Taiwan Pavilion that was on view at the Shanghai World Expo.
There are a total of 2 containers that have arrived at the Keelung Harbor.
The return trip was not totally smooth as a pre-departure delay occurred in the Chingdao Port, fortunately it finally arrived in Taiwan, with a number of fragile and high-tech goods.
The first container had many LED lights. The total cost was 750 million NT dollars and came in a special sky lantern shape.
It will eventually settle in Hsinchu as the city government is expecting to create a park that will bring lots of tourism benefits.
The Hsinchu City Government has had weekly project meetings regarding this case involving details, such as transport and others, as it plans to unveil on next year's National Day on October 10th.
