Rain Forest Lab
Next, a lab where mosquitoes fear to tread.
A postgraduate student in Hsinchu has turned his lab into a small botanical garden, which features 29 species of carnivorous plants. Now here on CTS, let's give you a tour of this special "no-fly zone."
Feeding mosquitoes to Venus Fly Traps, biology graduate student Chiu Chao Yen at the National JiaoTung University turned a corner of the lab into a small rainforest with 29 Insectivorous plants.
Chiu has be fascinated with plants since he was a child, especially the insectivorous plants. Chiu even opened a BBS discussion especially for answering questions of those amazing plants.
Chiu said that most people have a misconception of the pitcher plant, thinking that they would eat human fingers.
Chiu hopes the little lab garden can introduce more students to the world of insectivorous plants.
