A group of students from the National Tsing Hua University spent one year developing a lightweight electric unicycle called Legway.

The device can not only be used as a form of transportation, but also as workout equipment.

While in operation, It can recharge itself automatically. And

this energy-efficient device has won the grand prize of the Long Term Smiling Competition.

This electric unicycle called, Legway, was developed by a group of Tsing Hua University students.

When the unicycle is in use, it converts kinetic energy into usable energy and deposits that energy in the battery.

No energy is wasted.

At home, the unicycle can be rendered into an exercise machine by just tweaking the settings on a PDA.

Compared to regular cumbersome electric bicycles, this portable Legway unicycle only weighs about 12 kilograms.

It can reach up to speeds of 15km/hr.
