Technology Operated Forest
The National Taiwan University of the Arts and Tamkang University have jointly developed an interactive space, which is operated by the wireless sensor network. Let's take you to experience this adjustable man-made forest.
When the first person enters the technology fungus forest, music begins playing.
As a second person enters, an accompanying melody can be heard.
Upon the arrival of a third person, the music swells into a symphonic production.
These white mushrooms are actually wireless sensors that interact with pedestrians and the environment.
Through this new wireless sensor technology, the mushrooms are able to provide immediate responses to external stimuli.
The research team also incorporated aspects of social networking, including Twitter and forum discussions, into the sensors.
The forest will go on exhibit at National Taiwan University and Tamkang University's anniversary celebrations, and will likely be found at many public venues in the future.
