Labor Subsidy for Flood Victims
The Council of Labor Affairs is handing out subsidies to municipal governments in southern Taiwan, providing the flooded regions with more manpower in helping the cleanup effort.
The temporary workers will be paid 100 NT dollars per hour, with a maximum of three months of employment.
Flood victims in southern Taiwan and other areas that suffered flood damage during Typhoon Fanapi now qualify for temporary help.
Although the Council of Labor Affairs has not yet announced the number of available openings, many employment service stations have already begun making preparations.
According to the CLA's terms, temporary positions are open to anyone that has their residence registered in one of the affected areas.
The number of openings will be determined by municipal governments, and the jobs will be in effect for a period of three months.
Unemployed flood victims will also be able to sign up for one of the CLA's professional training courses within the next year on the government's dime.
