Rescued by Armored Vehicles
The Tashe Township in Kaohsiung County had been severely flooded by heavy rain over the weekend, with many leaving their wrecked cars in the middle of the roads. And it eventually took a military truck and an amphibious armored vehicle from the Army to bring the stranded passengers to safety.
These cars approaching the interchange are having difficulty moving as this is Tashe Township in Kaohsiung County where constant rains have flooded the main roadsto knee depth, and no cars can move forward as vehicles can not access people who have been trapped in their houses by the storm.
The military quickly mobilized large military vehicles to save these individuals one by one, as they travel down this road to lift people out.
All along the way we see vehicles are broken down and waterlogged with some with their raincoats and motorcycles making slow progress.
Some children have yet to see such flooding as these stormy scenes have frightened them as they constantly cry.
These people were taking advantage of the holiday to get in a bit of touring and they did not expect their car to crash.
Fortunately, no one was injured and the military sent victims to community centers as they gradually rescued 150 people.
The military dispatched amphibious armored vehicles for this duty as fire engines were unable to enter as Southern Taiwan and Tashe Township has become a vast expanse of water.
