Water stains can clearly be seen on the mannequin's jeans, and the owner has tears in his eyes as he tries to sell as much of his flood-damaged stock as he can. All of the garments here are priced at just 50 NT, and bargain hunters are eagerly circling the area. Some flip through the items hanging on the racks, while others dig through piles on the floor.

How much money can shoppers save? This one-shouldered sundress was originally priced at 450 NT, while this embroidered three-quarter sleeve top had a price tag of 780 NT.

Shipments of high-waisted jeans, which are in fashion this winter, had arrived just days before the flood, and prices have been slashed from 980 NT to 180 NT.

Virtually all of Hankou Street's stores are holding flood sales, and one shoe store on the street is selling pairs of shoes for just 100 NT. Consumers are happy about finding great bargains, but vendors couldn't be more distraught.
