Increasing Investment Opportunities
The 2010 Taiwan Business Alliance Conference has opened, drawing in nearly 1000 participants from 500 companies and organizations around the globe. The Council of Economic Planning and Development estimates that the event, which has attracted the participation of 10 major industries, will bring in 450 billion NT dollars worth of investments into Taiwan.
President Ma Ying-jeou attended the first session of the 2010 Taiwan Business Alliance Conference, which is one of his administration's large-scale efforts to market Taiwan in the world and solicit global investors.
The president is happy about the government's efficiency as he instructed on July first that the government should come up with concrete plans within three months.
Now within two months, the Council for Economic Planning and Development has delivered some results, introducing the ten major industries, after a joint effort of coordination with related agencies.
The ten major industries include biotechnology, cultural and creative content,
internationalization of gourmet foods, cloud computing, green energy and building, electric cars, urban renewal projects and more.
In terms of the project to promote Taiwan's gourmet foods,
it takes coordination and cooperation from local service providers in improving the sanity and service standards before the country's able to reap the business opportunities worth at least several dozen billions.
More than 500 companies took part in the first session of the conference with 20 some foreign investors.
Four more sessions will be held in Central and Southern Taiwan in the next two weeks.
The Council for Economic Planning and Development estimates this could attract NT$450 billion worth of investment in Taiwan and its upcoming plan is to solicit investment from abroad.
