The Centers for Disease Control has just announced that 3 million doses of influenza vaccine will be available on the 1st of October, which will protect individuals against H1N1 and influenza viruses.

Given that Taiwan's flu season takes place between October and the following March, the Centers for Disease Control has announced that it will begin administering free flu shots on October 1st.

The CDC has procured 3 million flu shots this year that protect against both the seasonal flu and H1N1.

During the first phase, shots will be administered to children between the ages of six months and the fourth grade, adults over the age of 65, and caretakers.

As avian flu outbreaks have recently occurred in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam, the CDC will also begin providing free avian flu vaccines to at-risk demographics at the end of this month.

Although the vaccines are free, patients will have to pay for their own registration and examination fees.

The CDC says that vaccines don't provide 100% protection, but they do provide an added measure of protection.

Patients should get a health assessment from doctors before getting the vaccine, and those that are prone to allergies or suffering from colds and fevers should not get vaccinated.
