For the teenager, who suffers from a deformed left palm, it takes two days to make a doll.
Speaking of the process, Tzi-ning and her mother can't help but become teary.
Given the teenager's strong will, she is one of the winners in this year's the Formosa Daughter Award, snatching the prize in the courage and advanture award.
Tshe-yu is troubled by pre-natal kidney disease and recently went through a kidney transplant surgery. Thanks to her family's support, she is able to continue painting and wins the special creation award.
Dancing cha-cha to the music, Lin Bin-yin shows off her dance moves that she has practiced for so long.
Despite the physical hardship, she insists her dream of becoming a dancer and wins the sports award.
Each winner of the awards has her own story to tell.
The Formosa Daughter Awards, with five categories in recognition of winner's achievement in science and technology,
community service, sports and arts and creativity, is aimed to create a new image for Taiwanese girls by encouraging them to be energetic, confident, responsible and intellectual.
