Mnd to Produce Military Drama
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Republic of China, the Ministry of National Defense is setting a big budget to shoot a television drama describing the story of a military soldier who retreated to Taiwan with the national army 60 years ago.
As part of the Republic of China's centennial celebrations, the Ministry of National Defense will be producing a 40 million NT, 20-episode weekly military drama.
The script has been completed, and the MND will begin accepting production bids in the next month.
The series centers on a three-generation military family.
The grandfather came to Taiwan with the KMT in 1949, and the show often flashes back to different times in Taiwan's history.
The MND says that it will be providing personnel, weapons, and whatever else is needed to ensure that the show is a success and make it as realistic as possible.
The series has not yet been cast, but the MND hopes to cast young, popular actors like "Ruffian Hero" star Mark Chao or Vic Chou in different roles.
