30-hour Famine
Over 13,000 people have gathered together this weekend trying to make a difference in the world by participating in the 30-hour famine. They share a common commitment to fight poverty and hunger for children around the globe.
Originating from Hualian, this group of aboriginal kids clap and sing to celebrate the 30 Hour Famine event.
Over 13,000 participants from various locations in Taiwan packed the event venue and fasted for a total of 30 hours straight.
Despite having hip problems and having to wear a hip brace, this eleven-year-old kid demonstrated his compassion for hunger victims by holding steadfast to the 30 hour fasting challenge.
And this 61-year-old grandma brought her grandson all the way from northern Jiayi to participate in their fourth consecutive rally.
She hopes that by participating in the activity, her grandson will learn the importance of helping others and not wasting food.
The World Vision organization says that over 20 million children across the globe suffer from hunger and famine caused by climate changes.
By holding this event, the organization hopes to elicit compassion from the public and to motivate everyone into resolving the issue of world hunger.
