GADDAFI DEAD, LIBYANS CELEBRATE
Celebrations erupt across the country, with Libya finally "liberated".Sources have confirmed that the 69 year-old former dictator Muammar Gaddafi is dead, which was first announced by Libya's transitional Prime Minister, Mahmoud Jibril.
Circumstances are still a bit murky, in terms of how he died, but the National Transitional Council said that Gaddafi was captured and killed in his hometown of Sirte, while he was attempting to flee.
The footage from Al Ahrar TV shows the final moments of ex-leader Gaddafi, who ruled Libya with an iron fist for 42 years.Apparently wounded at the time of his capture, with blood on his face, Gaddafi was shown being manhandled by the fighters.
The anti-Gaddafi forces have also confirmed the deaths of Gaddafi's son Mutassim and his chief of intelligence,Abdullah al-Senussi on Thursday, putting what seems to be an end to the revolt backed by NATO.
As for the future of the nation, US President Barack Obama said that the US would be a partner to Libya in their road to democracy.
