Recorded as the second most powerful quake, a magnitude-5.8 earthquake has struck Virginia, 88 miles southwest of Washington at 1:51 p.m. EST.
Felt by millions of people on the East Coast, evacuations were carried out at office buildings and monuments in the nation's capital. No major injuries have been reported.
