Visitors are feeling the ripple effect from Japan's earthquake and tsunami, leaving them deeply worried after continuous delays on flights. Many Japanese travelers are slowly making their way home, but will have to deal with the heavy destruction that follows.

These Japanese visitors arrived Kaohsiung days before the earthquake hit their country. Three days after the natural disaster, they finally got seats on the flight to return to Tokyo.

The huge earthquake snarled air travel, as flights are being canceled and delayed while some major airports of the country have been shut.

Tourists and business travelers from Japan were so anxious to return home and some got waitlisted at the airport early in the morning.

The situation also happens in Japanese airports, where Taiwanese travelers were waiting for seats for homebound flights.

When the earthquake took place on Friday, Mr. Lai bought a ticket to fly to Tokyo, hoping to personally pick up his wife and kids in the city.

But the trip was not smooth at all.

Many business travelers wrapped up work in Japan to return to Taiwan ahead of the schedule.

During their stay, they used cellphone to videotape the moment when the earthquake struck.

The hotel they stayed became a refugee shelter.

Having experienced the biggest earthquake ever recorded in Japan's history, these visitors felt fortunate that they were able to return home safely.
