JAMES FRANCO ON HIS NEW FILM
After his outstanding performance in the adventure film "127 Hours", actor James Franco will next appear in the sci-fi flick "Rise of the Planet of the Apes.", which will be on the big screen soon. Here on our program today, let's get you prepared for a battle between the man and the animal.
In the film, Franco plays a scientist who tries to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. He gives an experimental drug to a chimpanzee named Caesar, and as a result the animal's brain started developing, leading to the onset of a war for supremacy between human and apes.
"I love the concepts involved in the original 'Planet of the Apes' films but I loved the idea of doing a new grounded version of that, but also I really was interested in working with the performance capture team so Andy Serkis who plays Caesar and the WETA effects company and the DP from 'The Lord of the Rings' films, Andrew Lesnie. I'm such a fan of their previous work I just wanted to do something with them."
"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" opens in theaters in Taiwan on August 4th, and on the 5th in US cinemas.
