ZARA AND H&M WANTING A SLICE OF THE PIE?
Japanese brand Uniqlo has officially stole the hearts of consumers in Taiwan, with a plan of opening up six more stores in the months to come. Wanting a slice of the pie, Spain's Zara and H&M from Sweden will also be setting up their retail shops on the island before the end of this year.
The scene of long lines may seem familiar at the Uniqlo shops, and the Japanese apparel, that's relatively affordable, remains fairly popular since its arrival in Taiwan last September.
To meet the growing demand of customers, Uniqlo will be opening more stores across the island, and will be targeting the children's clothing industry as well.
Starting next year, Japan's leading clothing retail chain will be further expanding in Taoyuan, Xin-chu, Taichung, and Kaoshiung, with a goal of establishing up to 30 shops throughout Taiwan.
And Uniqlo is not alone on this money-making scheme. With ATT set to open in August, Swedish company, H&M is expected to make their clothing accessible in the Xin-yi District, while Zara from Spain has their eyes set on taking over two floors of the shopping area within Taipei 101.
Shoppers, save first because you'll need deeper pockets to meet your desire for fashionable wears.
