NOT THE PLAYER HE USED TO BE
We reported earlier about Roger Federer's chances of winning his 7th Wimbledon title this year, but an inspired performance by 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Wednesday has put all that speculation to rest.
The French player pulled an unlikely upset after rallying from two sets down to stun the Swiss maestro 3-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Federer started the match in style, winning the first set in just 27 minutes, and he dominated Tsonga in the second set tie-break.
But the Frenchman raised his game from the third set on, breaking his opponent three times without allowing another break point.
This marks the first time that Federer has ever blown a two-set lead in a Grand Slam.
It is also the sixth consecutive major tournament he's failed to win, the longest Grand Slam drought in his career since 2003.
