LU WINS WIMBLEDON OPENER
[0]After stunning the tennis world by reaching the quarter-finals of Wimbledon last year,
Taiwanese player Lu Yen-hsun returned to SW19 this week and made a triumphant start by beating Tommy Robredo of Spain in straight sets on Tuesday,
the final score being 6-4, 6-4, 6-1.
Lu held serve throughout the match and broke his opponent five times,
securing his first-round victory in 97 minutes.
This also marks the first time Lu manages to defeat Robredo, who once ranked as high as world number 5 and had been the winner in both of their previous meetings.
Lu will next face Serbian player Viktor Troicki, who is currently ranked 12th in the world.##
