THE LATEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
The number indicates that the employed population is now more than 10 million people, an increase of 19,000 people from March.
Given the stats, the unemployed population is now at 477,000, which is 22,000 less than March. DGBAS said that Taiwan's lowest unemployment rate tends to occur in early April or at the end of the year.
Job banks are remaining optimistic about the market this summer because certain technology companies have been posting new positions already amid strong sales demand.
DGBAS officials also added that Taiwan's average salaries have climbed to around 56,000 NT dollars, an all-time record for the nation.
