CELEBRATION WITH THE SOUND OF GONG
An iron factory in Yilan is celebrating its 100th anniversary by inviting children to experience the fun in playing with its works, including huge iron gongs.
Can you tell the man is playing an old tune " The Wind of Spring"?
It's surprising for us to learn that the gong actually has a 17-note scale.
With various size and thickness, the gongs in three rows can create different tones, and altogether create different melodies.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iron factory, the factory owner invited children to have a tour in the factory, and find out how the ancient musical instrument is made.
For those who feel tired holding the huge iron mallet, they can also choose to play gongs of smaller sizes.
Children can even try to make super mini gongs and have fun during the process.
The iron work factory in Ilan specializes in making gongs, and it has a huge gong that is four times bigger than average gongs.
Just by hitting the gongs gently, you can become a musician too.
